الْمَاعُون
"Small Kindnesses"
A powerful surah linking rejection of religion to neglect of the poor. True faith must show in action. Even prayer becomes hollow when done for show, or when basic kindness is withheld.

أَرَأَيْتَ الَّذِي يُكَذِّبُ بِالدِّينِ
Ara'ayta lladhī yukadhdhibu bi-d-dīn
Have you seen the one who denies the religion?

فَذَلِكَ الَّذِي يَدُعُّ الْيَتِيمَ
Fa-dhālika lladhī yadu''u l-yatīm
That is the one who drives away the orphan

وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَى طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ
Wa-lā yaḥuḍḍu 'alā ṭa'āmi l-miskīn
And does not encourage feeding the poor

فَوَيْلٌ لِّلْمُصَلِّينَ
Fa-waylun lil-muṣallīn
So woe to those who pray

الَّذِينَ هُمْ عَن صَلَاتِهِمْ سَاهُونَ
Lladhīna hum 'an ṣalātihim sāhūn
Those who are heedless of their prayer

الَّذِينَ هُمْ يُرَاءُونَ
Lladhīna hum yurā'ūn
Those who show off

وَيَمْنَعُونَ الْمَاعُونَ

And withhold small kindnesses
